We are evolving our brand to better tell the story of who we are and what we do to help all people impacted by blood cancer. This is in line with our pursuit of a bold goal: By 2040, we will enable patients with blood cancer to gain more than one million years of life. 
We conducted years of research and spoke to over 7,000 constituents, and found that having a more inclusive, consistent, distinctive, and relevant brand would be a catalyst for patient and donor growth. 

Blood Cancer United will be publicly announced and implemented in September 2025. Student Visionaries of the Year will begin reflecting this change in October with changes to logos, verbiage, and donation forms. The name Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will still be associated with the entirety of your campaign.

Our new name is just one important element of an overall, integrated brand transformation. We considered every element—our name, logo, color palette, font, tone of  voice, etc.—in creating a more inclusive, distinctive, consistent, and relevant brand.

Once the news is announced publicly, share your excitement on social media and with your potential donors and supporters! Staff will provide you with everything that you need in order to know how to communicate the reason for the brand change and what it means to our patients, volunteers, and donors.

Yes, we will continue to be a 501(c)(3) organization with all monetary donations being tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws. 

You are still able to deposit and receive credit for the check. Our banks have been notified and have told us they will continue to honor checks made out to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In situations in which a person hands you a check incorrectly made out, please use that as an opportunity to inform the donor of our name change and reasons for it.   

Related to this, if someone mails something to LLS, the post office has said they will deliver it to us as long as the address is correct.
