What is a Candidate?
A Candidate is all things that make a leader. Candidates plan and prepare prior to the campaign to set their team up for success. They host team meetings, prepare for sponsorship presentations, work with their team members to raise funds and overall lead their team to success!

College Letter of Recommendation
All candidates will receive a personalized college letter of recommendation from our Campaign Director. If your team fundraises over $50,000, then you will also receive a letter of recommendation from Blood Cancer United's President and CEO.

Signed Service Hours (50 + Hours)
Receive 50+ service hours awarded by your Manager to use for school required service hours or for your resume.

Grand Finale Awards
Receive awards for either your fundraising abilities (top two highest fundraising teams) or you dedication to the Mission Pillars of LLS (Research, Patient Education/Support or Advocacy).

Leadership Skills
Learn how to build and lead a team, grow a community and share the passion you have for Blood Cancer United with others!

Professional Skills
Learn how to network with individuals and businesses, schedule and prepare for meetings and utilize emails, letters and phone calls to promote your campaign!

Project Management Skills
Learn how to plan and prepare for your entire campaign, help build your teams support and create a successful campaign!
Expectations of a Candidate

Lead your team!
Build and lead your team to success! This includes sharing weekly incentive challenges, helping your team members explore their individual and business networks, send out potential sponsorship emails, and lead team meetings to keep your team members in the know of all things Blood Cancer United!

Partner with your Blood Cancer United Staff Partner!
Work with your staff partner to explore your opportunities, your network and your teams overall campaign planning. You will learn how to check your email daily, reply to emails in a timely and professional manner, plan an prepare meetings and more!

Plan and Prepare!
Once you are officially a candidate, you begin planning and preparing for your campaign along with your Staff Partner. This includes scheduling meetings with your staff partner, showing up on time, and having all materials prepared and completed. To be successful- you have to start early!

Working with Professionals!
Working with professionals is a key part of this campaign. This includes sending emails in a timely manner, scheduling and following up with potential sponsors, and show up prepared and looking professional to meetings. To work with professionals, you must be professional!
