Third-Party Events

While events can be fun, they can also be difficult to plan and are consistently one of the least effective fundraising strategies. Less than 1% of all funds raised in 2024 came from third-party events. LLS staff CANNOT assist in the planning of any independent events. Please refer to the CACT agreement for a full list of rules and regulations about third-party events.

Pros

  • Increase community engagement

  • Spread awareness of your campaign

Cons

  • Time-consuming

  • You may not be able to keep all funds raised

  • Can be difficult to plan without staff members

  • Must follow extremely strict guidelines

What if I REALLY want to host an event?

These are examples of easy events that won't take up too much of your time or resources:

  • Bake Sales

    • Have all of your team members bake something to sell during a school athletic event

  • Dress-Down Days (if your school has a dress code or uniform)

    • Students bring $5 to wear whatever they want for one day

  • Restaurant Percentage Nights

    • Template available
